Reconnecting Our Connection

Suara Indonesia Dance started Reconnecting Our Connection, a movement and dance initiative to
reconnect past ties between Australia and Indonesia in 2015. Suara Indonesia collaborated with performance artists Dedy Satya Amijaya from East Java and Yolngu artist Rosealee Pearson in 2015. Suara Indonesia Dance Company conducted traditional dance and music workshops at Yirrkala Community School, Nhulunbuy Primary School, Nhulunbuy High School and Anglicare Northern Territory Gove Peninsula After School Care in northeast Arnhem Land, NT.

This culminated in a final performance with local Yolngu artists and students on Thursday 5 November 2015 at the outdoor stage at the Roy Dadaynga Marika Stage, Buku Larrangay Mulka, with a special Welcome Ceremony by Traditional land owners the Rirritjingu followed by local bands.

Reconnecting Our Connection was still continued on 2016, 2017, 2018 inviting Indonesian artists to share Indonesian culture to Yirkalla community.
